Dining at Gallanach Lodge
5 star cuisine, freshly caught and home-cooked produce
We offer our guests and visitors to the island the finest in local produce and we hope to share our passion for excellent home cooked food and wines with you.
All our meals are served in the main dining room complete with a double sided wood burning stove. The huge hand made, elm board dining table which can seat 18 people has been made by the same craftsman on Rum who made our beds.
The dining room has a full height glass wall to let the evening sun stream through while taking in the breathtaking views.
Breakfast
We guarantee our breakfast will set you up for the day ahead.
To start with we offer fresh fruit salad, a selection of yogurts and cereals, fresh ground coffer or loose-leaf tea.. For the main event choose from our own home made pork sausages, crispy bacon, Award winning Stornaway Black pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans or free range eggs (from our own hens) the way you like them done.
For those with big appetites, why not have the whole lot. All served with homemade toasted bread and all cooked to order.
If you still have any room left, you must try our freshly made pancakes, scones or waffles with our delicious range of homemade preserves.
Evening Meals
We use only the finest seasonal Scottish seafood, game, meat and vegetables.
Where possible all of our shellfish, feathered game, lamb, pork and vegetables are sourced from the island itself.
We know exactly where all of our produce has come from and cook it in the simplest of ways to allow all the natural flavours to speak for themselves.
We bake homemade bread on a daily basis, which we offer to guests with each meal. We specialise in shellfish and the local fisherman along with his boat, “Quiet Waters”, catches all of our shellfish around the coast of the island.
This is kept mouth-wateringly fresh in creels at the end of the pier and is collected by us within hours before being served on your plate. You won’t find better quality or fresher shellfish anywhere in the world.
